Nerdcore is a hypothetical music app made by gamers, for gamers, with the focus on featuring music from and about video games, featuring original soundtracks and music from different eras that are featured in video games. The app prototype was created in conjunction with Andre Mares while we were attending SDSU. The main feature of our app is that the app has an AI radio host that is voiced by a character from a video game. Every icon was painstakingly pieced together square by square to resemble 8 bit display.
Many iterations were created in Figma, starting first with user personas to answer the needs of users. After determining the user’s needs, the first wireframes were created, and then a more refined lo-fi prototype was created along with a series of user tests to identify pain points and issues within the prototype. Finally, the prototype was completed with another round of user testing to identify anymore oversights.
